TinySEO is a whole SEO and speed toolkit with thousands of reviews behind it. Altfield does one of the things it does. Here is the honest case for each.
TinySEO, formerly TinyIMG, sells image compression, lazy loading, script control, CSS and JavaScript minification, redirects, sitemaps, schema, site audits and AI metadata generation in one app. Its site says 60,000+ merchants, 2,000+ reviews and 5/5 stars. Altfield does none of the speed or image work. It fills missing product metadata, and that is the whole app.
So the question is not which is better. It is whether you want one app covering a broad surface, or a narrow one that counts the metadata work in products rather than in AI credits.
| Altfield | TinySEO | |
|---|---|---|
| What it covers | Product metadata only: SEO titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, attributes, Shopify taxonomy categories | Images, page speed, redirects, sitemaps, schema, site audit and AI metadata generation |
| Entry price | $0 for 25 products a month, then $19 for 750 | Free plan, then $14 Beginner, $23 Advanced, $49 Expert |
| How metadata work is metered | Products a month. One product, one count, however many fields it writes. | AI credits a month: 150 on Beginner, 300 on Advanced, 1,000 on Expert |
| How images are metered | Alt text only, inside the product count. No compression. | 1,500 to 15,000 free images a month by plan, then 0.8¢ to 2¢ per image |
| What the pitch leads with | Nothing is written until you tick it | “Set up in a few clicks and let TinySEO do the work automatically” |
| Undo | One click per run, restores the exact previous values, free on every plan | 30-day backups of all images on every plan |
| Proof from other merchants | None yet. The app is new and has no reviews. | 2,000+ reviews and 60,000+ merchants, by their own count |
TinySEO's plans and claims were read from their own pricing and home pages on 6 November 2026. Check them before deciding — both apps change.
Take 500 products, each needing an SEO title, a meta description and alt text on three images: five drafted fields per product, 2,500 in all.
The reverse is just as true. If what you actually need is 8,000 images compressed and your metadata is already written, Altfield has nothing to sell you and TinySEO has the whole answer for $23.
You want one app for images, speed and SEO rather than several; you want a long review history and tens of thousands of other merchants before you install anything; image compression is the real job; or you would rather an app got on with it than asked you to approve a list.
The metadata is the job and you want it counted in products rather than credits; you want to read every proposed value before it is written; you want an undo that restores the exact previous text rather than a backup of your images; or you want the app to hold no customer or order data at all, with the records kept in the EU.
On proof. TinySEO has thousands of reviews and Altfield has none, because it is new. That is a real reason to be cautious and we are not going to argue you out of it — install it on the free plan, run 25 products, and see.
No card, and the gap count comes before anything is written.
